Mersin — a Modern Metropolis in Turkey

On the southeast coast of Turkey in the Mersinsky Bay there is a city called Mersin, the largest port city of the Mediterranean. It’s the capital of the southern province, located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Taurus Mountains. The length of the province along the coastline is 321 km, of which one third are clean, sandy beaches. Almost 90% of the province is made up of mountains.

Due to this location and the proximity of the mountains and the sea, Mersin is dominated by a mild Mediterranean climate. There is no winter, in our understanding of it. After all, 300 days a year, it’s sunny and clear. And average temperatures fluctuate in winter are around +15 degrees Celsius and around + 30 degrees in summer.

In the province there is no increased humidity and heat in the summer months, due to the fact that air masses are constantly circulating from sea to mountains, and vice versa. In the first half of the day the sea breeze comes from the sea to the mountains, where the moisture condenses, so the rains are raining in the mountains, then the cool air again descends to the sea.

Don’t forget that in addition to the city with its stunning architecture and ancient history, Mersin is also a modern metropolis with a huge number of shopping centers, fine restaurants, nightclubs and fashionable hotels. Every year, a music festival is held in Mersin, which has international significance and attracts many guests. The fourth important in the country is the local opera and ballet theater.

The most developed industries in Mersin, where translation services from English to Russian may be required, are:

• petroleum — translation of instructions and manuals for operation of geological prospecting and oil refining equipment;
• cement — translation of drawings (excavations, foundations, metal structures, floors, life support systems);
• food — translation of restaurant menus, research about the process of food production;

RTS was helpful when I almost lost a hope to get a visa. Simultaneously, the price-list is enough democratic one!
